Harvest Ministry of Food
Our goal is to provide fruit and vegetables, frozen meals and pantry items to people in Ballarat affected by food insecurity.
Whether you need a hand up while finding work, experiencing hardship with an influx of bills coming through or feeling the pinch with rising costs of living when the question 'what is for dinner?' is an issue in your household we want to be part of an answer for you. We can offer help with a box of fruit, vegetables, frozen meals, pantry items and maybe a referral for other kinds of support like emergency housing.
Volunteer
We have an amazing team of volunteers who reach out to the Ballarat Community. Offering not only a box of food but also a smiling face and an ear to listen.
Donate

About Harvest Ministry of Food
Harvest Ministry of Food has been serving the people of Ballarat since 2015. We have seen many changes, and all sorts of people have come to our doors to be helped on their way for another week.
Previously, a Thursday free lunch was provided, which not only filled stomachs but provided a time for patrons to stop and sit, often learning there were many in similar situations as their own.
When COVID-19 hit Ballarat, Harvest Ministry of Food pivoted to ensure we were still able to continue serving people. Although the sit-down meals came to a halt, our volunteers have continued cooking to prepare weekly frozen meals and many fresh sandwiches are made ready for the Friday Food Bank. Now, we have access to the generosity of FoodShare, a volunteer organisation in Melbourne that prepares frozen meals.
Previously, our patrons were able to help themselves with most of the food. Now, boxes or hampers are pre-sorted with any bulk items available for self-serving.
The food we can't move we pass on to other agencies like the Salvos here in Ballarat.
